I believe your LDL levels would be lower than someone who eats burgers and steaks. Burgers and steaks have more cholesterol and saturated fats than vegetables.
Cholesterol and saturated fats can raise LDL levels.
All things being equal, the person who eats steaks and burgers would probably also eat cheese, milk and eggs that still would give you an edge on the LDL levels.

Keep in mind that LDL is a type of cholesterol, and the levels are influenced by your genetics and your lifestyle, as well as your food. Are you sedentary? Also -- do you eat cheeses and eggs? Do you fry some of your vegetables, or cook with a lot of oil and butter? These are contributors, just as well as some veggies and fruits are high in fats, carbs, sugars, and oils. So it is possible for your levels to be high. But the good news is you can get them down - try adding oatmeal and other whole grains. Just don't slather them in butter and cream. Also, if you are willing to take some fish oil capsules the Omega 3 will help, and you may want to combine it with some grape seed extract (it sure brought my husband's down). Add more excercise. Make sure your salad dressings are low fat, and the oils you use are olive or canola. Good luck!

It depends on your personal restrictions as a vegetarian. Some vegetarians like myself, still eat animal products like cheese, milk, and eggs. These foods contain saturated fats which contribute to high levels of bad cholesterol. So the answer is yes.
