Despite other posters, there is an alternative opinion. This is one example of HIV/AIDS in Uganda, Africa.

The notion that people are not being tested is false.

In fact, it would seem to be otherwise. In North America, the average costs of meds for HIV is about 1200.00 per month. This is far out of the reach of many Africans in a variety of nations.

Of course, if the cause was taking HIV meds then, over 2 million people in Subharan Africa were taking meds in that price range. The figures for Africa in terms of economy and poverty, just doesn't support the contention.

With estimates of 25 million having died of AIDS, then we can easily track the earnings of pharmaceutical companies to show the money that would have been made from these meds. Of course, these meds were not around at the beginning of the HIV epidemic.
