I am VERY CONFUSED, the nurse said i have herpes 1 but its on the vagina. Then she said its better than herpes 2 ( which would be down there), but i have 1 and it is down there. So im confused about the 2, like shouldnt i have herpes 2 instead of 1, i really just dont know

There really is no difference between HSV1 and HSV2.

HSV1 usually affects the mouth and lips, but it can also affect the genital area.

HSV2 usually affects the genital area, but it can also affect the mouth and lips.

It's actually better for a person to have HSV1 then HSV2. HSV1 outbreaks tend to be less severe and less frequent then outbreaks caused by HSV2.

I personally have genital herpes caused by HSV1. So, it's very possible to have either HSV1 as cold sores or genital herpes.

HSV 1 affects the genitals. But HSV2 does not affect the mouth.
If your report says you have HSV1, that is true.
