Try googling crock pot recipes. Throw it in even early in the morning, and let it cook. Make a dessert the day before. Throw together your salad and serve outta the crockpot....my husband cooks in one all the time. Puts stuff in before work and it's ready after!!!

Get a nice big roast and put it in the oven in a casserole dish with a foil cover over it, vented, of course. Clean and halve some potatoes and put those with it, add some carrots, too, and some quartered onions if you like. Put an inch or two of water in the pan, add some minced garlic, some salt, and some pepper, and you'll have the most delicious roast when you come home. Set the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and turn it on just as you leave. Once you're back, pull the foil off the roast and let it cook uncovered for a few minutes, put a tray of rolls or biscuits in the oven while you get the salad together, and have a lovely dinner.

You can probably get away with a two hour roast by making a turkey in a browning bag in the oven! The beauty of these bags is that they do all the work for you and all you have to do is come home and carve it! Depending on the size of your turkey, it can cook in as little or as great of a time as you need. For a 12 -14 pound turkey, unstuffed, you should have it cooked in about 3 hours. Another option is to purchase a 6 pound pork roast, season it and cook it at 325 Degrees for 2 hours. Should be great.

I dont like to leave with oven, on so I suggest a sesame or plain chicken breasts( I roll it in a bisquick four with garlic, cayenne, salt pepper and topped with butter-just whatever spices you enjoy) baked till doneness preferred ( to us it is about 45 mins.) When you return home, turn on the oven first thing for ten minutes and it will be warmed.

I wish how my mother did that when we went to church on Sunday mornings 40+ years ago.
I would take a 5lb roast of tougher meat (hogget) and cover it and cook at about 160C.
The meat would still need to be carved Dad's job and served with hot mint gravy
Thanks for the memory

The Crock Pot is your best friend, you can start a dinner on low and set it for 8 hours, or high for 4 hours...
A roast with potato's, carrots and onions would work the best...
