I have had HPV for over 6 years. I have had two abnormal pap smears and two colposcopys done. I've also had a Leep procedure done to remove cancerous cells on my cervix.

My last pap smear was over 6 months ago (I'm due again in May). I'm finally hoping I have got rid of my HPV once and for all, but I'll just have to see next month.

***Also, the person below me is just WRONG. For most people HPV DOES go away on it's own. Most people are basically able to "fight off" the virus.

HPV, or Human Papillomia Virus is never "cured" it lives in your body for the rest of your life. The warts it causes may go away on their own and come back or they may go away and never come back. They also may never go away at all. There are several therapies for removing the warts such as electroscalpel, nitrogen freezing, salicylic acid, etc. However one never expels the HPV

nope, you can not remove the HPV once you get it. It will in your body all the life time. But you can remove the warts by drugs
