I presently live in Maine and cannot take another winter with my arthritis. I am looking for somewhere that would be affordable, and not too humid. BIG Plus if there are mild or no winters. Any suggestions? I am disabled and cannot afford big cities, but need to be central to one.

I really do not think their is any place that is suitable to live with Arthritis. Many years ago Arizona was THE place to live, in fact it had the highest population of people with Arthritis anywhere. Then I read some study that stated the Native population of Arizona, those born in Arizona had the highest incident of Arthritis? Winters are not good times anywhere if you have Arthritis, but you can help yourself. Add extra lightweight warm clothing, keep the house warm, warm drinks and so on. The point is, no matter where you are you will eventually acclimatise to the surroundings and a small drop in temperature is just as bad as snow, ice, below zero. My understand it the fluid in the joints is like engine oil in a car. The colder it is the thicker it is and the thicker it is in the joint the harder to move more pain. However take the car to the desert and after six months the oil will thicken but now with only one degree drop in outside temperature.

Imagine for a moment your arthritis completely vanishing right now.

If, in a moment, your pain and stiffness melted away. And your joints all of a sudden functioned like a well-oiled machine.

Like a magic wand was waived, you'd be able to jump up from your chair and run around the room like a kid.

And imagine that you'd never have to suffer as much as a pinch of arthritis stiffness or pain ever again.

I know this sounds impossible right now, but bear with me, because sometimes miracles happen.

It was a gift from a woman on the other side of the world. From the kindness of her heart, she took pity on my suffering and taught me how to completely reverse my arthritis.

Today, I want to do the same for you!

I can tell you what does help short term , take a sauna . The combination of dry / heat really helps me . When that isn't available another choice is a hot-tub . If that isn't available a long really hot bath , lastly a heating pad .

My husband says the joints, he takes anti inflammatory drugs and uses anti inflammatory gels prescribed by his G. P. The anti inflammatory gels work on the muscle surrounding the joint which helps to relax it, some of the pain is caused by the muscle tightening around the joints causing pain. He has also been prescribed anti depressant that also help to ease the pain, these were prescribed by the pain management clinic. If the pain is too bad for your g.p. to manage ask them for a referal to your local clinic. Good Luck
