Tell your friend to get online and do some research. There is plenty of info available - see the links below.
If she has just been diagnosed her doctor should have provided her with some information - certainly the fact that Chlamydia is curable and Herpes is treatable.
There are 3 antiviral medications for herpes which can help reduce outbreak recurrences, severity and transmission risks. There are also a number of alternative treatments you can use, however, results vary with individuals.
Also, there are many support groups worldwide for people living with the herpes virus - some hold real world support meetings too. And there are also one2one peer support services for those who need it (I run one myself if she would like to get in touch).

Well chlamydia can be treated in a couple of weeks with antibiotics, but unfortunately for you friend she is going to have herpes for the rest of her like. Herpes is a viral infection not a bacteria so there is no cure for it. However there are medications that can limit the amount of breakouts she has and make it less easy for her to transmitt the virus to anyone else. You should definitely tell your friend to do alot of research on the herpes virus and make sure she uses condoms from now on.

Chlamydia is completely curable and very common in sexually active people. You take a pill everyday from 3-7 days and its gone. Herpes on the other hand is not curable, meaning you will have it for life, but it is treatable. You cannot die from Herpes or Chlamydia. She will have occasional painful outbreaks of tiny sores or blisters that can be controlled or completely stopped with the medication acyclovir or valtrex. I have Herpes and i take Valtrex once daily and its like I don't even have it because i don't ever get outbreaks, but I know inside that I still carry the virus, therefore you must protect others by using proper protection. I get my medication at the health clinic. She should go there too. Every city has one. She will pay nothing or very little for the meds. Be a supportive friend because finding you have a STD that will be with you for life is very depressing. It was for me. It does not mean you are a dirty person. At least she knows she has it and can protect others. Many people have diseases and don't know it because they dont get tested. Those people are "dirty" to me. Best wishes!

I got diagnosed with genital herpes (type 2) about three years ago, when I was still in college and had a foolish one-night stand. I realize loads of young women say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a massive mistake that one time and all of a sudden it seemed like I was going to have to live with the implications for the rest of my life. The hardest part was feeling I could never date guys again. In the end, who wants to go out with a girl who has sores around her "you know what" area? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/apVZZ everything got better.
Not only was I able to eradicate all remnants of the herpes simplex virus from my body in less than three weeks, but I was also able to begin dating again. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so blessed to write that just a week ago, in front of everyone in a busy restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!! This system provided me the opportunity to be happy and experience real love again. Now I want to help others by sharing this story.

Chlamydia is treated and cured with antibiotics.
There is NO cure for herpes. There is medication to help suppress the virus, but once a person has it they have it for life.
Neither STD is deadly, however, chlamydia can cause serious health problems like infertility if not treated.
And, most medication is covered by insurance and is fairly cheap.

Y!A Friends I have no personal friends at home since I got married. I only have 2 or 3 friends on here but I feel real close to them because I learned so much from them from their profile and their questions and answers. I could be friends in real life with them too if I would meet them. I am a good friend easy to get along with.
