'Every year, millions of people treat themselves for pubic lice. These tiny insects are also called "crabs." '

I believe the reason why there is no percentage given is that seeing the doctor for an infestation is unnecessary. With the increasing popularity of shaving off the pubic hair, I'm thinking that the rate of incidence is going down as well.

Forty percent is an astronomically high figure!!! Even herpes (specifically HSV-2), an incurable STD has an incidence rate much lower, closer to an estimated 25%.
