and how in the world do you get enough protein as a vegetarian/vegan if you don't really care for nuts?

There is one major difference, a vegetarian doesn't eat meat and may eat dairy products, while a vegan does not eat ANY animal products or byproducts. Many people believe that vegans are just about not eating dairy and meat, but they are also usually activists who do not wear elements such as leather, or fur because it is their strong belief not to.

I am an experienced vegetarian (16 years without ever eating meat), and I would recommend eating as much protein as possible. I usually eat a product called "Zogolos", it's hard to find but the company creates fake meat products that contain all the nutrients that you need (including iron and protein). You can check here http://www.zoglos.com/ for more information on the products and their ingredients.

Another great product you might like to check out are "Yves Veggie Products". They are similar to Zogolos but I think they have more choices, and I can fully recommend them as tasting great. Here is their website

I hope that answers your question. :) Good luck. xxx

Vegetarian doesn't eat meat (fish included) and Vegan does not eat or wear ANY animal product (milk/eggs-leather).
For the vitamins, proteins etc. we have products such as soy, nuts, vegetables (plenty of) and fruits (plenty of too) ! You know, lots of vegetarians/vegan are more concerned by their health than a majority of omnivores !
And of course, like the others, we have doctors, checkups and everything ! We don't all live in seclusion, far away from civilisation ! There is even veggies who have the Internet !

vegetarian: someone who is considerate of other living things and doesn't feed on them...but they do drink milk and eat cheese...some also consume eggs.
Vegan: The same beliefs as vegetarian but they don't drink milk or eat cheese or any dairy products. They only eat what has been grown on the Earth.
