No, there is no smell associated with genital herpes.

When there is a smell, that usually means there is some sort of an infection down there.

I was told by two different kinds of professionals, and I have also noticed through years of personal experience and with partners. It is not always present, so i am guessing it is part of an outbreak, and is not always accompanied by other symptoms, which may be why there are so many different answers to this question. I say yes, categorically there can be a strong, distinctive, unpleasant odour associated with herpes but it is not always present, and is not always accompanied by other symptoms.

Smells indicate infection. Herpes and oder don't neccessarily coincide together but I'm sure it has happened. If your concerned have the person in question get checked out.

I don't think Herpes has a smell, but I guess other STD's do have odors. If you keep that region of the body clean, then I don't think you will have any "odor" problems.

Yes, when someone has a outbreak there is usually a foul odor along with it. And also if there is a outbreak you would be able to see it the sores. Get tested/Use protection.
