There could be many reasons for her passing out. A blood glucose of 62 is not known for a fainting reaction. While it is low, it isn't THAT low. At least in the diabetic world.
If she has inherited issues, she needs to learn how to combat hypoglycemia. Eating small amounts every few hours may be necessary. She should also be evaulated for pancreatic growths as they can increase insulin production. Hormone issues are definitely an issue at this age and can cause hypoglycemia in some cases.
Look at her diet. Is she eating? Anorexics faint a lot with mild hypoglycemia. And from my experience with low carb dieting, if she has tried dieting, staying away from carbs, it could have an effect on her.
Obviously, not knowing the cause of her spells in unacceptable. 62 in an otherwise healthy child is something to be concerned about. Take her to your regular general doctor. If you do not get results, go to another one. I know it gets expensive but if it comes to doctors totally denying there is a problem, document these spells by going to the ER each time they happen. At some point an alarm will go off in someone's head.

I went online and got a free contour meter. You print the coupon and take it to the pharmacy but you do know you will have to buy the test strips and the lancets to check her sugar? You need to get he to a diabetes doctor and have appropriate blood work done. An adult should be between 80-100 for it to be normal. Not sure what kids are,but at 62 and adult can faint also. Get her help quick.

I think it would be good at this point to invest in a meter. You can get them really cheap. Sometimes you just have to prove something to the doctors. Make a calender, chart your daughter's problems and be prepared when you go into the doctor's office. Meanwhile, keep a close eye on your daughter, I immediately thought of her suger levels when I read the beginning of your question. Good luck to you and I wish you well.

You can buy a glucose monitor at almost any drugstore, grocery store, or even Walmart. They're not that expensive.
You should also buy some glucose gel or glucagon tablets to give her when she passes out.
You need to contact her doctor or an endocrinologist about her hypoglycemia.

Has she started her period yet? When I was that age I used to do that right around the time of my period. I would bleed very heavily as well. That could account for the low blood sugar as well. Just keep as close eye on her as you can with a 12 year old will let you and get her to her primary as soon as you can. Good luck

She could be a bit anaemic as well--ask her Dr for a CBC and serum ferritin to check for iron deficient anaemia which is common in young women.
I'm sorry your having such crappy treatment, you must be very worried. Hang in there and squeak until someone hears you.

The best thing you can do for her is take her to her primary doc.
In the mean time have her eat a little every two hours and see if this helps at all

my son blood sugar gets to 70 and he wants to pass out . See her regular doctor and get her checked out, and keep apple juice in the little cans on hand, so when she feels funny again give it to her.
