No. Using olive oil in cooking or salads, rather than more fattening oils may help reduce your risk of heart disease. But you are not guaranteed no heart disease just because you eat one tbsp of olive oil a day.

Some studies have shown that olive oil reduces the risk of heart diseases. Olive oil is high in mono unsaturated fatty acids and will not adversely affect the blood cholesterol.

Not necessarily. But consuming a tablespoon of olive oil instead of consuming a tablespoon of lard or some other fattening oil reduces your chances of getting heart disease. It is all relative.

It is unfortunate that many of us are extremely gullible. Olive oil is based on TEMPERATE zone climatic ecology, and this writer is of the opinion that IT IS FOOLISH TO STATE THAT OLIVE OIL PROVIDES BENEFITS TO THE PEOPLE IN TROPICAL COUNTRIES. All such nonsense are mere PROPAGANDA to sell the Temperate zone products to the people in the Tropics, where we have better materials and more materials than available in temperates zones.
Our health will be BEST if we EAT MORE FOOD THAT ARE LOCAL AND ETHNICALLY BASED ON OUR OWN ECOLOGICAL SURROUNDINGS. This follows from the Evolutionary principle that vegetation and plant specie thrive through "Selective" methods, and those which have the maximum survival capabilities WIN. This provides for the BEST GENES to be propagated, in the saga of evolution. That explains why "Hybridization" is NOT THE BEST ANSWER FOR GOOD HEALTH, WHEREAS GOOD HEALTH COMES FROM NUTRITION OBTAINED THROUGH LOCALLY AVAILABLE STRONG SPECIES.
Any attempt to change this is NOT the way. But unscrupulous MARKETING GIMMICKS BY THE WESTERN WORLD TO SELL THEIR MATERIALS TO THE GULLIBLE AND POOR TROPICS IS FAST CATCHING UP IT MUST BE OPPOSED HEAD ON.
