It also depends if thats total cholesterol or not, theres good and bad cholesterol. If its all gtood cholesterol thats absolutely nothing to worry about, you actually
need good cholesterol.
If you're at all concerned, the first thing to cut back on is hydrogenated vegetable fats. Check the labels when you buy food. For example, switch from margarine to either one that doesn't contain hydrogonated oil, or use butter. Extra virgin olive oil will clear cholesterol from your blood stream, so will oat bran (its in porridge), and any food that contains Omega 3. Thats oily fish like salmon or mackeral, or Columbus brand eggs.
You can add a teaspoon of olive oil to soup or gravy, eat oily fish twice a week, eat Columbus eggs instead of your usual brand and change your spread. Have porridge for breakfast a couple of times a week, and eat more fresh fruit and green veg. Those aren't drastic changes and won't make you feel deprived.
A few changes to your diet will help, but the way you metabolise cholesterol is changed if you're under stress, so deal with any stress as well.
If you make a few changes and get another test in 6 months you can see if its changed.

It should read below 5 but 5.3 is not to bad. It really depends if you have a history of Heart problems in your family. The trouble is sometimes it raises without you knowing. You have to have a blood test every time. If you cut down on your fat intake and take Omega 3 & 6 it will probably go back down. Some people take a garlic tablet every day which also helps.

Well doctors do like cholesterol to be below 5 but 5.3 is certainly nothing to worry about.Just take little steps to try and reduce it and keep checking on it regularly.

I probably wouldn't even realize what was happening Cause... my sister is 14, and has a friend who's 13, yet this friend is like 5'10. If that chick was kissing some 29 year old man, and I didn't actually know either of their ages, I literally wouldn't know their ages, and nothing would seem out of order there.... & Some legit adult women are like 4'10. I see that often enough. For all I know he could be A.Kissing a really short grown woman B.Kissing a really tall piece of jailbait.

Cholestorol readings change throughout the day if you took the test after smoking or something like that it will be a bit higher, however 5.3 is not a bad level as 5.0 is regarded as normal

You have to look at your family history of heart disease and view it from there. Cholesterol is broken down into good and bad. HDL is the good, LDL is the low density or bad.
The 5.3 number is taken from the ratio of these different numbers plus triglycerides.
Look to see which one is elevated. If HDL is low you can increase it with exercise. LDL can be lowered with diet.
Increasing HDL lowers that 5.3 number. Triglycerides can be lowered by decreasing carbs including alcohol.
Lowering LDL lowers the total number as well.
