I shall assume that you are doing the "catering" so to speak. Think in terms of courses and the drinks you will serve along side them. Most dinner parties break it down into cocktails and appetizers, wine or champagne with the soup and salad course, wine with the main course, and coffee or tea or dessert wines with dessert. Here are some menu ideas:

1 Appetizers: Assorted cheese and fruit platter
Bowls of roasted nuts (mixed drinks)
Salad/Soup: Fresh spinach salad with gorgonzola,
glazed walnuts, bacon, and french
dressing (pinot grigio, champagne)
Main Course: Pork Roast with sage, wine reduction,
fingerling potatos with rosemary and olive
oil, glazed baby carrots (pinot grigio,
sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, chenin
blanc, white zinfandel)
Dessert: Chocolate creme brulee
Assorted petit fours, cookies
(coffee, tea, cream sherry, port)
