As we can see, we're gotting more and more heavy than before, I mean 1960 to 1990, should we ascribe this to the diet we eat? Weeks ago the British guy Charles announce that people should not go to Mcdonald any more. More or less what he said is correct, at least I believe that the high rate of diabetes mellitus and heart disease has a root cause from the high calorie food such as fried potato chip and chicken.
Months ago I took a trip to China, I find the guys there do not have the same problem of us, I believe it dues to their diet contains more vegetable , we may need a social revolution for diet now. Anyway, weight creates healthy problem.

Lots of things have changed in the world over the years. In America in particular fat-laden fast food is convenient, quick, and in many cases pretty tasty. Our fast-paced society has also contributed to obesity in that we just grab fast food and go instead of sitting down to enjoy a meal. We often live in high-stress situations too so our bodies constantly pump out cortisol which is the "fight or flight" response hormone...then we go sit at a desk somewhere while all that pent up energy turns us to mushy fat blobs. This country really needs to slow down and "smell the flowers" so to speak. It seems no one has time to enjoy life any more. So many of us are in such intense pursuit of the almighty dollar that we will sacrifice our families, our health, and even our own lives to get it. Then we don't slow down enough to enjoy what we have. If we took more time to sit down together and eat slower, cook healthier, and enjoy our food and our family, i think we would all be quite a bit happier. And more fit. Best wishes!
P.S. Miso soup, sushimi, and seaweed salad rocks! ;)

It is not just Americans - but Americans are leading the way.
It is eating too much too quickly.
They have too slow down, choose food more wisely, consume smaller amounts and eat slower. You are supposed to breath while eating. Take a breath between bites.
And yes, less fast food. If it is necessary look at things like low carb, low fat.
Buy a burger with lots of salad and no fries. Drink water instead of fizzy drinks.

We have more food, more readily available than other nations, and our typical city / suburban lifestyle with all the modern appliances require less and less physical activities. Is it any wonder that we are getting fatter?
The attacks on McDonald's is misplaced. We need changes to culture and lifestyle rather than band-aid fixes.

Cheap processed fatty food and HUGE portions of everything. Plus, Americans don't walk anywhere - people get into their huge gas guzzling cars to drive one block to McDonald's.

People are on the go to much now. Fast food is quick and easy when they are tired and don't want to cook. So many tv channel's and the internet. People stay inside more now. You see so many landscaping company's now because it's easier to hire them than to do it yourself.
