Easier with Vegetables...anything leafy like spinach, lettuce, greens, etc, have as much as you want. Also cauliflower and broccoli. Celery is great...you actually burn more calories eating it than you get from it! Carrots have some calories, but hardly enough to make you gain weight, so they're ok. Onions and garlic are great if you can handle that much of them. Stay away from potatoes though...they will make you gain fast!
Fruit is a little more difficult, because most fruit has sugar (fructose) in it, and that can make you gain weight if you don't burn it off. Stay away from pretty much all berries...they have very high fructose. Most citrus is ok, but make sure you actually eat the fruit, not just drinking the juice (because juice has higher fructose than the fruit itself). With fruit a good rule is the sweeter it is, the more calories it'll have.

No matter what you eat you will gain weight. Don't believe me? Stand on the scale while you stuff your face and see if it doesn't move! It goes up when you drink water, it goes up when you just hold water. Don't panic either, because this is not an answer to be a smart azz, but it's really more of a way to get 2 points.

i'm about an same as you, 5ft 5/6 and weigh only below 10 stone. i could do with transferring 0.5 a stone i assume! you aren't from now on ingesting sufficient at present. you opt for to eat the quantity you'll follow, or you'll only finally end up bingeing. commence the day with some thing like particular ok, have a piece of fruit and salad for lunch, then a small dinner like chicken, salad, small jacket spud and a yoghurt. then you really opt for to excercise extra. operating, cycling and swimming are solid. you opt for to no longer eat that biscuit consisting of your tea, no longer quickly have that chocolate bar.....you understand what I propose. in case you eat smart quantities and excercise, you'll shed some pounds, that is unavoidable. My problem is that I graze all day lengthy!!

you can eat most vegetables and fruit and not gain weight but you need some protein as you will not be healthy. What would be the point of being thinner but sick and susceptible to any contagious illness that comes your way. You need to be fit as well as healthy so that normal tasks are not such an effort.
Eating a range of different foods but in moderation is the answer to a good diet and exercise moderately to keep yourself fit is just as necessary.
