It depends on the charity and the clientele you are catering to. If you are raising money for CYO basketball you may want to stay between $10 - 15 a person. If you are raising money for cancer treatment you could probably bump that up to $20 - 25 a person. The key is to get the best bang for your buck. Tell local businesses what you are doing. You can probably get them to donate things. Bakeries will often donate bread & rolls. They are cheap for them to make, and more money for your charity. Florists will also donate some flowers. Go to mom & pop type businesses they are usually the most generous - probably because they are too embarrassed to say no!

Figure your costs of food so you at least make that back and add on how much you would like to make on each plate.
Wait, you say donation yet if you're charging a fixed price that is not a donation.
Only 25 guests? Are they all friends and people you know. Crap, if so, guilt them into giving.

devide the costs by 25 then add how much you would like to recieve for the donation to if the cost is 5.00 per person and you would like to give 5.00 per person as donation 10.00 is the cost or if all is free and donated devide what you would live to give like 250 then charge 100.00 per person
