Your body is making a high level of insulin.

Has your doctor talked to you about diabetes? It is possible that you are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes. In type 2 diabetes, your body slowly builds up a resistance to insulin, and thus the pancreas makes large amounts of insulin.

The best way to prevent Type 2 diabetes is to keep you body weight in a healthy range and watch the amount of sugar you consume.

My son has diabetes and we test whenever necessary where ever we are. I prefer he not do that in a public restroom because they really aren't the cleanest places in the world. He has been diabetic 9 years and we have never had anyone say anything negative, nor have we gotten dirty looks when he's tested his sugar in restaurants or other public places. I think diabetes is so common that people see what you are doing and understand and don't give it a thought. We also bring home used lancets for disposal. But you can put them in a soda bottle with a cap and put them in there. If you have a nurses office at work, they may have a sharps disposal container.
