I wanted him to get a blood test before we sleep together, but he just gave blood about 5 months ago. he showed me his red cross card that has his blood type etc. on it. so does this mean 5 months ago that he was free of any diseases? (hep, hiv, etc)

Yes, but that was 5 months ago...anyway best to use protection at all times...also they don't test for herpes or venereal genital warts...

I got diagnosed with herpes simplex virus (type 2) about 3 years ago, when I was still in college and had a mindless one-night stand. I know a lot of girls say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a massive mistake that one time and suddenly I felt like I was going to have to live with the implications for my entire life. The worst part was feeling I could never date other men again. In the end, who wants to go out with someone that has sores around her private parts? But since a friend shared this movie https://tr.im/Ll6LY everything got better.

Not only was I able to clear away all remnants of the hsv from my body in less than 3 weeks, but I was also able to begin dating again. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so fortunate to write that just last week, in front of everyone in a crowded restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!!! This method gave me back the opportunity to be happy and experience true love again. Now I hope that I can help others by sharing this story.

If your boyfriend refuses to get tested, do NOT have any kind of sexual relations with him.

The testing that the Red Cross performs does not cover all STDs that are out there. He needs to go to his doctor or even Planned Parenthood to be tested "across the board".

Five months was five months. A lot can happen in that time period. Do not rely only on condom use. Yes, condoms offer some protection but they are NOT foolproof. You should both go get tested.

You should both be tested. If he wants to sleep with you that should be one of the ground rules and if he doesn't care enough to do the test he doesn't care enough to be worth sleeping with. Why is he so against it? That would make me wonder. Of course some STD's particularly AIDS may not show in a test made shortly after it is contracted. Experts say that 3 clean tests over an 18 mo period are needed to be sure and HPV (the virus that causes cervical cancer in a lot of women) is much more common if person has more than one sex partner so be sure the tests include that too. This is one of the biggest reasons for not having sex with anyone until you marry them but if you are determined to do that at least don't have sex with a guiy who doesn't respect you and himself enough to be willing to be tested for all STDs

Yes and no. When blood donations are given, they aren't used just for getting tested. YEs, blood will be tested for HIV, but the others...well, not so much. So, go get tested together. This way, he won't feel threatened, and use protection. In the meantime, wait. If he likes you or loves you a lot, he won't pressure you

i think you should have him get tested who's to say he haven't caught anything in the last five months. he probably was clean then and then there a chance he might not be clean now.

was he with you during that 5month period. if so don't worry. If not then get him tested, assuming he's not a virgin.
