At least millions a week. This is a severe problem in America. As a respiratory therapist I personally see 100s a week with different types of asthma, copd, pulmonary fibrosis, reactive airways disease.
Between smoking and polution its an issue that no one is able to escape from.

A lung doctor should see his patients at least every 3 months to monitor the lung disease. This is the only way to keep track of whether the disease is dormant or spreading. After several good 3 month check-ups the doctor will schedule yearly visits but if the patient starts experiencing the symptoms again, then an appointment should be scheduled. As far as cancer, I would assume the doctor would see the patient more frequently. Good Luck.

The first year I went to a pulmanologist every 3 months, last apt was 4 months

my son sees the general practitioner once a week He has a respitory nurse that comes to our house once a month He sees the allergist every other month he sees the pulmonary specialist every 4-6 months depending on his status reports from the GP
