If you are concerned, I suggest you go to A&E.
Good luck.

Could be a few things. Diabetes (hence the fasting bloods), amaemia (the lack of oxygen carrying red blood cells will cause a lack of oxygen to the brain and cause drowsiness, pins and needles, slurring etc) Stroke, Brain tumour, head injury, blood pressure problems or maybe a reaction to a medication (or even a foodstuff).
You don't say if these symptoms are happening all the time or come and go.
If you Doctor was extremely concerned the he would have made a referral to the hospital there and then. If you are worried, go to the A+E.

My dad had slurred speech, double vision, and extreme sleepiness after starting Lexapro, which is an antidepressant, and all these things stopped when the Lexapro was stopped. Is there any chance that your husband has been taking any new medications that can cause fatigue as a side effect? The slurred speech and double vision can go along with that sometimes, as they did with my dad. There are probably other possible explanations for your husband's symptoms, and certainly you do need to consider stroke whenever something changes neurologically, but I just thought I'd mention what caused them in my dad, in case it helps. I hope the doctor can figure out what is going on and I hope your husband gets better soon.

You must advocate for your husband. This means that you must ask the doctors all the questions you can think of. Like what will the fasting blood tests show? (Sounds like they are checking his blood sugar levels to check for diabetes). Ask about his symptoms and blood pressure and any medications that are prescribed. Ask the doctors what they think is going on- if any further testing is needed such as CT scans of the head or an MRI. Or if hospitalization is necessary. Be polite but firm and let them know you are only concerned for your husband. Sometimes doctors and nurses get defensive or frustrated if you question them; please do not be afraid of making them angry; just remind them of your concern for your husband and your need to understand everything about the situation. Good luck and God bless.

He needs treated quickly, he has all the symptoms of a stroke and needs his blood pressure brought under control asap to prevent any further damage, I would get him to hospital and let them check him over, high blood pressure is a major cause of strokes and heart attacks so dont wait till Thursday. A fasting blood test is for diabetes, they will take his blood fasted then get him to drink Lucosade and take it again after 2 hours to see how his body copes with sugar. The main thing is to get his blood pressure under control, please get help.

There is a simple test for stroke. First ask him to smile & see if it looks different than usual. Ask him to say a simple sentence & check for slurring. Then tell him to raise BOTH arms over his head to equal height. If he can't do this he could be in the middle of a stroke & need immediate attention. The first hour is critical.

a fasting blood test is normaly to check sugar content of the blood for diabeties, but can show if eletrolites are out or clotting of the blood, this does sound like it may be a stroke or a heamotoma my partner had one of them a year and a half ago. if they think it is something like that then they will send him for a cat scan. you can also get half the simtoms when your kidneys are going. if he gets any worse then take him to a and e they do know what they are doing

he may be suffering from anaemia (low red blood cell count). A blood test will show if this is the case, and can be fixed with simple treatment.

Most conditions like your husbands turn out to be quite simple to fix, so try not to worry.

go to the hospital if it gets very bad, might be a near stroke. My daddy had something similar, and they told him to make drastic lifestyle changes as it was a sort of warning thing. He didnt have a stroke tho. Just try not to stress your man out, and keep him fitand healthy!

Hope all goes ok!
