Medication is the best way to prevent a breakout. Valtrex.
Stress, poor eating habits, lack of sleep, and being sick can trigger symptoms. Basically anything that causes your body to become unstable can cause a breakout. The frequency of the breakouts will lessen over time. Good Luck!

Go to your doc, pronto, and see if you can get a prescription for an antiviral medication, such as Valtrex. Medication can supress breakouts for longer periods of time, but there is no cure for genital herpes; and remember that it is still possible to spread this virus even if you have no active lesions.
