When I am driving down the inner state, for example I94. I see those trucks filled with cows or pigs, I know where there are going, there are going to be slaughtered. I just want to know if any other person feels the same way I do, such as mortified because I know that it will be their last ride.

I agree that this is extremely sad. But honestly, if the entire world just stopped eating meat, wouldn't all the animals become overpopulated to the point of taking over? I just wish that they treated the animals better. But then again, if they got attached to the pigs and cows, then they probably couldn't kill them. This is such a confusing subject for me.

That always reminds me of this song.....
Dona Dona
On a wagon bound for market
There's a calf with a mournful eye.
High above him there's a swallow
Winging swiftly through the sky.
How the winds are laughing
They laugh with all their might
Laugh and laugh the whole day through
And half the summer's night.
Dona dona dona dona
Dona dona dona down
Dona dona dona dona
Dona dona dona down
"Stop complaining," said the farmer
"Who told you a calf to be?
Why don't you have wings to fly away
Like the swallow so proud and free?"
Calves are easily bound and slaughtered
Never knowing the reason why.
But whoever treasures freedom,
Like the swallow must learn to fly...........................................
it is such a sad sight ........ and never gets easier ..

yes, its distressing. Many times, especially in the case of chickens, they are often in those trucks for days on end, and many die from exposure and lack of food and water. The ones that die are turned into cat and dog food! its shocking and so wrong. Why should something have to die just so people can satisfy themselves, when there are so many wonderful plant based foods out there. No need for meat, and certainly no need for the cruelty issue

Yes. I have seen the same too and I'm pretty sure the animals know what's going on. It's sad although lately I've deadened myself to it.
