You need to go to a new doctor--ask your friends for the name of someone who is interested in finding out the cause of your problem, not just in prescribing something. I am NOT a doctor, but be sure that your doctor considers allergies to mold, the place you live, your pets, etc. (Once I had symptoms like yours , and it turned out that a bush outside my bedroom window was the cause.)

You might also consider going outside the traditional medical world--I've had great results from acupuncture, and other people swear by naturopathy (sp?)

Good luck!

Know how you feel and it's bloody terrible.
I had rhinoplasty - didn't work.

Avoid dairy products if possible - soya milk is okay but I love cheese and there's no real substitute for it.

Sudafed will help dry it up but taking it over a long time only makes it worse.
Flixonase or Beconase may help temporarily but you must see a doctor about allergy testing.

It's the pain that you feel in your sinuses as well - however fed up people may get with your problem they've got nothing on how fed up you feel.
Do you live in a city cos pollution also makes it worse?
My ma bought me a salt pipe which is pretty good - I'm sure you could order one off the net.

Mine is much better since I started laying off the dairy.

Did you have a dummy/soother as a child cos an old auntie, who was a nurse, used to believe that my problems were caused by not having one and not developing my nasal breathing properly. I think she was a bit barmy but would be interested to hear your experience.

You do not have a cold, you are affected with rhinitis due to allergy. Do not use nasal sprays for a long time. Do not eat irritating food like spicy. Do not blow your nose hard and do not manipulate it as possible. You should inhale a lot of water steam esp if you are living in dry climate. New antihistamines are of help, and you may tell me of your condition as a follow up.

Your symptoms can be chronic intolerance to something in your diet or environment. My first thought is dairy products. They can easily cause the symptoms you have. Think about the foods or drinks that you "just can't go without". What do you eat/drink every day and wouldn't want to give up. They will be the clues that are causing your problems. What we "love" the most in food/drink is usually what hurts us the most. Give up what you are most attached to and you will probably notice a huge difference in your health.

It sounds as though you have chronic rhinitis, you have been down the medical route maybe you should try alternative medicine, this could be all to do with your diet. You need to find an alternative practioner and talk about your problems. The local herbalist store will have a list.

Hopefully you live near a big city and can ask about an Immunologist - check and see if you have low IGG levels
which is your immune system.
You should in combination of seeing someone who takes you seriously find a good ENT - if you can't find someone seriously write to some larger city hospitals. Like U of Penne
Cleveland Clinic and see if someone can help you.
best wishes.
