if i get bronchitis (spelled wrong)... can it turn into pneumonia?!?! i had pneumonia when i was born, and have been afraid of it coming back. i have bronchitis right now and do not have health insurance so i havent gone to a doctor to get it treated or get medicine. should i be worried?!

it needs antibotics! go to emergency room if you have to, if you have no insurance! i had bronchitis 3 times and got better through antibiotics! and i do not even smoke! they cannot! turn you down for medical treatment! it is the federal law! no!! EMERGENCY ROOM IN AMERICA can turn a person down for treatment!

I am not a doctor however I am a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Yes bronchitis can turn into pneumonia. If your symptoms do not subside in one week (from start) and your sputum/phlegm is yellow or green, you need to see a doctor.

You spelled bronchitis correctly... and YES, it can DEFINITELY turn into pneumonia. It's happened to me at least 3-4 times in my adult life.
Go to the E.R., if you must. If you've had pneumonia in the past, your lungs are already compromised - you have to be ESPECIALLY careful!
And ALWAYS get your flu shot!

Yes bronchitis left untreated can turn into pneumonia. I have had it happen to me several times. If it is GREEN, you must be seen.

If your temperature remains below 101 and you are not having chills, and bed sweats, and purulent sputum, just rest and take acetaminophen for relief.
