45 years old smoker , with shortness of breath and lund function tests were : pre-fev=1.2 , post fev=1.35 ( pretected fev=4L ) how can i determine the severity ????

GOLD stage III = severe
with FEV1 at 30% of predicted

On the borderline of becoming very severe GOLD stage IV

Usually, there is a lot of other things going into the determination of how severe COPD is - symptomatology, how difficult it is to control, exercise tolerance, ability to speak, blood gas results, etc, but at the level of difficulty breathing you have described the 45yo smoker is really quite bad.

I know that the lower the figure, the worse the condition is.
Yours looks extremely low. I would stop smoking right now if I was you.

have you already been diagnosed with copd because as i am sure you know it is fatal and you will quickly be walking around with an oxygen tank ...you should really be having this discussion with a medical professional
