Are you actually trying to get vegetarian to tell you that it's alright to eat slaughtered animals?

Why don't you introduce your mother to Morningstar Farms recipe starters, Boca burgers, Lightlife sausages and Yves products!

Any meat is bad for your health. All processed food is bad for your health. If your wanting to convince your mom that veggie meat is bad, look into what is injected into animals to make them fatter and bigger. The hormones and anti-biotics that are injected into them are not intended for humans to consume. Milk by the way is bad for you also. Breast milk from a cow is intended for a baby COW, not humans. I know that your still having cravings for meat. I had horrible cravings for two years for meat, and I would buy a hamburger, but once I smelt it, I couldn't eat it. Try going with out meat for a few months, no fish, chicken, beef and pork. After 2 months, eat a steak, then tell me how your stomach feels. Our digestive system is not intended for meat, because meat eaters have a small intestinal system, and vegetarians have a long intestinal system. The human intestinal system is 5 times your height, so when people say that meat is ok to eat, the way our body is designed says different. Your mom is trying to give you a healthy way to eat, and your falling into the advertising grip of the meat industry. Do more research into the health risks of meat, and don't get suckered into the theory "If it tastes good, then it's ok."

For convenience foods, there are some great vegetarian foods out there for those who miss meat. The veggie burgers keeps getting better and better. And there are the faux chcken nuggets and the soy bbq riblets which are great.
But for starters I would learn how to prepare tofu in your meals. Sure, everyone can just cut it into cubes and add to soup or stir-fry. But. There are advanced ways of making that including freezing, pressing and sometimes sauteing as well which completely change the texture.
And the soft silken tofu can even be used to make desserts like cheesecake.
And there is always tempeh, which has a nice meaty texture. You can marinate that stuff and cook it like a burger for a sandwich.
But if you are bored with what you can have I would suggest getting a cookbook for vegetarians like "Soy! Soy! Soy!" or "The Voluptuous Vegan" or "The Garden of Vegan" or "Vegan Planet" Crescent Dragonwagon's tome of vegetarian cooking and/r anything put out by the Moosewood Collective.

Chicken is as bad or good as any other meat. If you get meat, be it beef, pork or chicken, get it from a trustworthy eco provider that guarantees no hormones or animal flour feeding, and no transgen technic.
Fish on the other hand is very healthy and necessary, as long as it is not polluted from its waters (nor raised and fed with hormones and bad food).

You don't need meat to be healthy. Me and my 12 year old daughter thrive on a vegetarian diet. Your mom is doing the right thing by not feeding you beef and pork-they are full of fat, cholesterol, antibiotics, growth hormones, steroids, and all sorts of nasty things, and will cause you health problems later in life. Be grateful that your mom loves you enough to feed you nutritious foods. There are many countries where the people only get one meal a day, mainly plain rice or a grain. The fake meats contain artificial ingredients, and soy, which can be a common allergen. Listen to your mom, and develop better eating habits, ok?

Ok man! Never eat any pork or pepperoni just eat halal food because it's riddled with parasites. Pigs are dirty because of what they eat! But there is nothing wrong with beef it's just something that takes a long time to digest! And oh ye! Chicken and fish are meat!

Stop eating anything which is made from a pig!

They give cancer! Because they are riddled with parasites!

Oh ye! Your mom is 100% right!

Huh, I think that your mom is smart about the pork, because it's riddled with parasites.

However, the beef is something that takes a long time to digest.

chicken and fish ARE meat!

I was seriously confused when I saw the words "veggie meat" and then read the rest of your question. If it walks (or swims) around, bleeds, and eats, it's an animal.

If you are old enough to ask a question on Yahoo! Answers, you are old enough to go to a store, buy meat, and cook it yourself.

She is right. Twice a month won't kill you, but, she's right. And, really, just go to McDonald's every two weeks and say no more.

If she is really against it, you dont just have to have chicken and fish. Try quorn dishes, which you can buy at any supermarket, and they have vegetarian optiions, that taste just like mince or beef etc!
You could also try some different dishes, do a bit of research as i dont know what you like...
Im a vegy and some of my favourites are
pizza and chips!
honey and ginger stir fry
macaroni cheese
pasta arrabiata
mushroom currys.
hope that helps
