It depends on how you view *animal friendly.* While many of the above-mentioned companies do not test on animals, but to the best of my knowledge they do use animal bodies to make the products.

Most make-ups in general are made with fish and cow parts. These animals are generally not killed in a friendly manner.

So if your issue is simply testing (go you, that is a great step) then Mary Kay if fine. If you are interested in completely cruelty-free makeup, please try these.
Eco Bella
Beauty Without Cruelty
Zia etc.
The quality does not lesson with the lack of dead animals.

According to Mary Kay Inc. it "has not conducted, or requested on its behalf, any testing of products or ingredients on animals in over 15 years and actively supports the research of alternative testing methods."

However Avon was the first major cosmetic company in the world to end animal testing.

On June 2, 1989, Avon announced a permanent end to all animal testing of our products, including testing done in outside laboratories.

Avon has a lot more variety, and if sign up to be rep you have no minimum order, it's $100 with Mary Kay.

The more you order with Avon the more money you save, but as long as you order $25 (I think, it may have changed) you'll get at least 20% off your order and they extend credit to all their reps.

You have to pay for your last order before they will fill your next order, but if you will order $25 or more at a time (which is super easy) you should sign up as a rep even if you never sell anything expect to yourself.

Mary Kay products are quality, but they are still over priced. Avon has products everyone can afford as well some really wonderful high end products. They also sell everything you can think of, not just makeup.

I don't do Avon anymore, not even for myself, but it's because we had some money problems and I'd spend to much on Avon if I was a rep.

We do not do animal testing.
To reflect its compassion for animals, Mary Kay Inc. does not conduct, or request on its behalf, any testing of
products or ingredients on animals. In addition, we are one of the largest cosmetics companies to have signed
the Coalition for Consumer Information pledge promising never to do animal testing at any time in the future.
In fact, Mary Kay Inc. issued a moratorium on animal testing more than a decade prior to signing this pledge, and
we actively support globally recognized organizations in the search for alternative testing methods.

Arbonne's premium health and wellness products are made with exceptionally high EUROPEAN STANDARDS of quality. Using animal products and/or bi-products is illegal in European countries. Their products are also tested on human panels, rather then on animals. Arbonne's revolutionary products are pure, safe, beneficial, hypoallergenic, pH correct, botanically-based products that are formulated without alcohol, wax, dyes, chemicals, fragrances, acetone, or mineral oil. They are vegan friendly! I just posted a blog on my 360 page on Arbonne's About Face Color Collection. If you're interested in learning more, I'll be happy to help you.
