If you mean like "palpitations", yes. I'm only 15, and when I was 12 or 13 I thought I was going to die because it would happen to me every hour, everyday. Try not to think about it, that's what I did, I just stopped worrying because I obviously wasn't "dying" and now they only happen like once a month. Don't worry about it, I know quite a few people who are like this and they've been to the doctor and they've all told them the same thing, that's it's nothing. It's normal.
Have a nice day.

Well Yes and No.
I'm 23 and have a pacemaker, i have an AV block which kept my heart from beating making me skip beats. I would pass out and always felt sick but when I went and had EKGs it wouldn't happen. I had a 24 hour heart monitor which you wear in normal activity. Well there it was I had a average heart rate of 19 (65-75 is the norm), they knew what was wrong and put the pacer in.
Point of the story, If you think your skipping more than just a beat every once in a while make sure your doctor does such a test. If you know there is something wrong and the doctors aren't picking it up keep after them.
Good luck, everything works out for the best.
Jenn aka Pacer!

An EKG just tells you the heart's electrical activity in one specific point in time. What you will need is something called a Holter Monitor Test. In this, you wear a portable device attached to electrodes on your chest like you do when you get an EKG. This continuously reads your heart's electrical activity and it is monitored for 24 hours. During this time period, you document the exact time when you feel the irregular heart beat. The cardiologist will look at the corresponding tracing that was recorded to see if there is actually a missed beat or abnormal beat at that time. Otherwise skipping a beat now and then is ok. You should calm down and relax.

100% of the population has an occasional weird heart beat. It only becomes a concern if you have health problems that could be related to it.
For instance I have a limit somewhere between 3 and 4 miles an hour that I can walk on a flat surface. If I go above that I suffocate. I have hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Heart palpitations are moderately common for me. They weren't unheard of before this developed.
If you have an unusual heart beat on a regular basis and have a possible heart related problem then it might be worth checking out.

An occasional atrial ectopic beat is not unusual. The next normal beat is delayed so you don't actually miss a beat but have an early beat. Upto 6 ectopics per minute are acceptable and not an indication for treatment unless there are other symptoms or indicators of heart disease. Caffeine and cocaine (among other things) are known to cause ectopics.

As mentioned above by Vinay, it's normal.
But it's better for you for have an ECG by your doctor. He'll be able to figure out the cause of it.
I, myself had irregular heart beats caused by stress few years ago and have been given drugs up to now.
And now I have a normal heartbeat.

They say you skip a beat everytime you sneeze or hiccup! No idea how much truth in it!
I would see the doc just to be safe as there's never no harm in asking!

Technically no, but some people naturally have dysrhythmic hearts. As long as you've been to the doctor and they've checked it out, everything should be okay.
