No matter how high or how low your perscription is, your cornea has to be thick enough. If your cornea is not thinck enough the Lasik can not be done. Go to your eye doctor and express your intrest in the proceedure and find out who they refer to. Get all the info you can so you can make an informed decision.

I don't know, I am not a doctor. What I am is a person who's friend got laser treatment. Please, talk to as many people as you possibly can who have had the treatment. My friend's eyes are now chronically dry. He must put drops in up to 10 times a day. He wears goggles to keep dust out of his eyes and has told me a couple of times that he wishes he had never heard of the procedure.
His could be an unusual situation but please, you owe it to yourself to check before you go into something like that. Please don't misunderstand, I am not telling you not to do it, only that I have seen one very bad result and I would feel remiss if I hadn't passed that information on.
Good Luck regardless of your decision.

I think there are a few factors that affect whether you can or can't, but I think your prescription is fine - remember even the most expensive of surgery types aren't guaranteed to work perfectly - my mum had the best technique around (twice since the guarantee says if it doesn't work they can do it again) and she now needs reading glasses instead of glasses all the time

This is too high of a power for laser treatment to correct. Some centers are doing refractive lens exchange for higher amounts of hyperopia such as you have.

If I'm not mistaken you're long-sighted. I understand laser treatment can correct only short-sightedness.

Absolutely! I've had the surgery done myself, now my eyes were not as bad as yours, but it's certainly possible. Go get it done before your eyes get too bad!!! The worse your eyes are the more the procedure costs!! So get er done!
