I have a cat at home. I'm not allergic to it and I don't have asthma. Is it possible for me to get asthma from my cat?

Anyone can develop an allergy to something they weren't allergic to before. So, yes you could develop asthma triggered by cat hair and dander. I would say more likely not but it could happen.

Asthma is NOT contagious. Keep in mind that our bodies are continuously changing and it is possible to develope an allergy that you previously did not have. Allergies can aggravate asthma.

No, but if you are allergic to it you will have attacks. I know because I am a cat lover, and I have never heard of such a thing. My cat's name is Pirate. Ain't that cute?
