Starbusts have gelatin, which is also present in Skittles, Jell-o, and most jelly beans. Gelatin is a product made from boiled animals bones and tendons.

If you really crave sweets, you can try some Jelly Belly jellybeans, since those are, like, the only jellybeans that don't have gelatin. You can try some fruit snacks, but it's up to you to look out for gelatin.

edit: Sorry, Jelly Belly jellybeans have beeswax. I'm not sure if that would constitute as animal harm, but it is an animal derived product. Stick to fruits, then. I find that grapes are a real good sweet treat if you get the green seedless ones.

I would say no on Starburst. They contain "gelatin less than 1%" and that's too much for me. Jelly Tots might be okay, I don't see any obvious non-veg ingredients.

You can do this, just put the name of any product and the word "ingredients" on "search" and you can probably find it. It's easy.

that depends on where you live. in the UK, starburst are veggie; while in north america they are not. not everything that is veggie-friendly will say that it is veggie-friendly.

in the UK skittles are also gelatin-free, but they have carmine/cochineal, which is a red dye derived from insects, so it's up to you if you are veggie if you're going to eat it or not.

a tip: read the ingredients, if there is anything that you don't know or are unsure about, do a google search on each one with the word "vegetarian" or "vegan", for example, "dextrose + vegan" (without the quotes) and it will tell you right away if it is or not.

Your best bet if your really craving something sweet is to get raw fruits and a veg*n topping like brown sugar or pure cane sugar or soy chocolate or sorbet icecream or 100 other super sweet things, put them together and serve. Easy, and much healthier.

The manufactured sweets you are looking at to satisfy your craving, even if they are vegan they are not good for you. They are very high GI foods, containing lots of chemicals, artificial sweeteners, natural and artificial chemical and/or acid based colours and flavours and preservatives, the Ph level is off the chart in acidity, and they have negatively charged ions. Granted it may or may not have animal originated additives, but your vegan at least in part because you like being healthy, right?

Most sweets/candy that we call 'chews' in the Uk contain gelatine starbursts included.Go to www.aquarterof.com they have a selection of 298 types of gelatine free sweets and deliver them to your door. The quarter refered to means a quarter kg (250g) ie approx 8oz as opposed to the old-fashioned British quarter 4oz or 113g.
