It can take several months and even years sometimes to get rid of genital warts without any medication or treatment.

If you have genital warts you need to see a doctor. They can prescribe you some cream, either Aldara or Condylox. These can both be applied at home at your convenience. This can take a month or more to completely get rid of the warts though, so you have to be patient. Do NOT use over the counter products for genital warts. These products are made for common warts, like the ones found on a persons hands or feet. These can actually cause second and third degree burns on the genital area if they are used. The genital area is too sensitive to use over the counter products on.

If the warts are more severe or you don't want to wait a month, you can always have the surgically removed.

Don't have sex during an outbreak. By the way for everyone posting that this is life-threatening to the girlfriend- the wart causing strain is NOT the cancer causing strain. But unless she wants ugly warts down there, I wouldn't suggest sex. Actually, she needs to go get checked- she probably already has them. As far as masturbation- the friction can cause them to rip off and that will spread them.

depends on the type that you contracted. they can stay for months, or grow in more and bigger clusters. They come and go with no pain, but the real pain is seeing and feeling them everyday. Whatever you do, just dont go see graphic examples online, they only put extreme cases.
A good alternative is getting them lasered off. It lowers the percentage in future outbreaks. They use general anesthesia for the surgery though, and be prepared to be in bed in pain down there for almost 2 weeks. It is a painful process, but worth it, i havent had a serious outbreak since! Maybe just 1 every couple of months. But for that, using a prescription cream like Aldara, takes care of that.
Good luck!
