Blood tests can tell you if you have syphilis, HIV, hepatitis B. Other STD's, such as gonorrhea ("the clap") have to be diagnosed clinically. However, you won't be able to get a blood test practically anywhere in the US without a written doctor's order.

What do you consider a blood test? Doctors often order blood tests for patients to check basic blood chemistry and the amount of the different types of blood cells. You can't determine any STD's from that. There are specific tests for each type of STD, and that exact test has to be done in order to determine if you have that particular STD. An HIV test doesn't tell you if you have syphilis. I'm not sure what type of blood test you would do without talking to someone beforehand. A nurse could tell you what was going on.

There is no blood test that can tell you if you have chlamydia or syphillis........ This is a different sort of test. They take swabs from you vagina. There are very few STD's that can be discovered by a blood test. The only one I know of is HIV
Hope this helps
