I really hope they aren't because I love those tacos, but since I'm a vegetarian I can't eat them anymore. If they are meat free, that'll brighten my day!! :D

No, they're not vegetarian.

Jack in the Box purchases 11 million pounds of beef each year just for tacos.
(From their website.)

They aren't real meat in the sense that they are probably not muscle meat like steak, more like beef scraps. I have heard some "meat" used in fast food is one step up from rotten pet food grade. If it were soy, they would have to disclose it somehow and not call it beef taco to keep from fraud charges. Buy meatless ground from Morningstar Farms and get a packet of taco seasoning and make your own at home. Your heart will thank you for the lack of saturated fat.

I wish that was true, but I don't think it is. They would probably have to advertise them as "vegetarian tacos." If they didn't contain any meat, it would get them in trouble for false advertising; since most people would expect tacos to contain meat.

Their site says Beef & Cheese "the real stuff." Our family joke is they Dog Meat tacos.. The only meat I ate while expecting my last child was them for breakfast. I use to pick them up on the way to work many mornings.

To tell you the truth, almost anything that comes from a restaurant chain has chicken or beef parts in it. I just found this out after eating the broccoli cheddar soup at panera and finding out it was made with chicken stock.

Good luck being a vegitarian!!! =)

Ask the taco jock to read the label on the box they came in. Probably meat though.

This is not true. The tacos at Jack in the Box contain beef...

It is meat, the cheese is cheese and you are not a vegitarian if you eat these things.

And to all the people who love making those snarky comments about how lame it is being a Vegan I suggest you watch:

Legally ALL fast food places have to provide you with nutrtion information and ingredients for their food, and usually they are avalible on their website.

you can see their ingredients here.

while it is quite possible they have soy in them (All McDonalds chicken does except for their nuggets) It is VERY unlikely they are vegetarian, they most likely have some beef, as well as beef fat.

If you're worried about Taco Bell using real meat or not, you have greater issues to deal with .
