I believe I have the symptoms of a yeast infection, but also after having these, I had sex a few days prior, so could this possibnly be an STD? If so, what might it be?

Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:

Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment

YES. Regrettably, genital herpes can also lead similar symptoms, such as burning and irritation in the vagina. It could also be a urinary tract infection (UTI), which is common and easily treatable with antibiotics. You should consult your physician for an examination, especially if you are sexually active. A PAP test is advisable at least once annually. Also, be sure that you and your partner are tested for STDs at least every 6 months. The only way to be sure is by checking his/her results. There is a company called CheckTonight.com that allows you too verify STD test results of partners with your cell phone. Don't be too shy to ask!

Do you have any other symptoms? It could be either. Your best bet is to get into the dr and have a culture taken.

Vaginal itching is a common symptom of many STD. Better to be safe and find out.
