First embarrassment is only normal, don't beat ur self up for it, However it is essential to tell the person you are/were sexually active with, they may be doing this to others and not even know.
Put the embarrassment aside when you approach this person and just let them know the importance of taking care of whatever STD it may be, if you're angry that's OK too, just remain calm and walk away from it if you just can't do it. Put yourself and your health first but remember other ppl could be in your position too if he doesn't know what he may have and how it affects others. This is common for allot of ppl, and takes awhile to put the emotional questions and self beat up behind you but just get educated on the STD and be careful!
The doctor had no right to blurt out your situation either...and maybe you should address the facility of patient confidentiality and it was not a great experience for you!

Everyone sounds so embarrassed and blaming the doctor for "privacy rights"! Didn't everyone known that in this country whenever you can intimidate someone or make them feel shameful you'll get a "gold star" !?????
Why did you go to the emergency room? Were you not aware that's where all the incompetant doctors in this country seem to flock?
However, you should not be having sex with anyone knowing your medical history as that is outright criminal in my opinion.

The doc should never blurt anything out loudly like that. I wouldn't go to ER for a genital problem though, unless it was emergency-like pain.
At least it spares you from having to tell the person yourself- which you would have had to do soon if they're a love intersest!!

If you've got pains in the privates and it IS an STD trust me your man is going to know. If you think he didn't then you have been played by a carrier.
If you found out then you immediately need to get treatment and leave that liar of a man alone while you can still breath.

I would think that there is supposed to be a system of trust and hope that your safe as well as knowing that your information is private even from those in the room with you. Everyone brings along a person in to keep them company and for moral support but that doesn't mean that it gives them the right to disclose all in front of anyone I know cause it happened to me once. My baby daddy was in the room when they told me i was pregnant and you would think that its a womans choice to make it special if she share that info with her childs father or have it told like someone blabbing and gossiping. I would be embarrassed and with a new man who you wanna be with possibly someone you have or haven't had it with.... makes you worry he won't be with ya.

Nah, I'd just laugh and say the dirty bast@rd is the one who gave it to me, but he's going to know it very soon. Why be embarrassed? I mean it's not like anybody wants to get an std. Just learn your lesson and don't ever have unprotected sex unless you want a child or another std.

Oh goodness. Yes, I'd be horribly embarassed! I would probably talk with that doctor and let she/he know that privacy is important, especially when it is something that sensitive.

make sure you didn't get it from your 'love'. if you have had unprotected sex with others too, get them to have a check up. the spread could easily become an epidemic!
