I had a deviated septum & a cyst in my right maxillary right sinus. The doc straightened my septum and scraped my sinuses. The surgery was a piece of cake, but getting my packing removed yesturday was painful. Just wondering when I will feel back to normal. Doc says 7-10 days.

I have had reoccuring sinusitis everymonth or a year. Runny nose all the time, sneezing, stuffyness, plugged ears, etc. Basically, sick all the time. Finally, antibiotic weren't helping-had to resort to surgery. I would have done anything to get better. Believe I didnt want surgery.

Boy do I ever know how you feel!!!!! Having the packing removed almost feels like having a tampon pulled out of your nostrils. My ENT told me to get in a very warm shower and let the water run over my face and to inhale the water but to not blow it out but to spit it out. Its very gross but it does get the blood clots out. In about two weeks you will feel alot better. I do hope he gave you something for pain. Best of luck.

I have had sinus surgery many times. The first two times they used the packing that hurt when it was removed, but the last few times the surgeon did not put packing in. It was great! Almost no pain after and the very next day people could not even tell I had surgery the day before! Get a really good surgeon next time! That packing is not needed and is the worst part! You should be fine in a week.

I'd say 10 to 14 days and a ton of pain pills. I had 5 procedures done at the same time from my front sinus down into my throat. Pain pills. Then I went back and had my nostrils opened and realigned a second time as so much was done at once they stopped a little short there. Again10 to 14 days with tons of pain pills. Wonderful results except they punched two holes in the left sinus and now I have extremely acute non-allergic sinusitis and rhinitis. Nose runs bad 24/7/365. I mean really really bad. Affects quality of life tragically.

Nasal surgery is HORRIBLE.. I had a similar procedure performed and it made me wonder why anyone would ever have non-essential surgery on their nose. Misery in other parts of your body you can disassociate yourself from to a certain extent, but your nose is right in face! Good luck with feeling better.. it will take a while. Try not to sneeze or blow :)
