I've eaten curries, several Indonesian meat dishes, real Satay & nasi and the like. There was a nice restaurant in Utrecht (Netherlands) but it's closed now, went there a few times. And I've cooked some myself, there was a seminar cooking Indonesian food here in town about ten years ago. Come to think of it, I cooked several of those dishes at home right after, but over time I'd sorta forgotten about them... I'll dig them up and cook some soon, thank you for the reminder!

I lived in Indonesia, and love the food. In fact, I've lived in or visited more than 30 countries, and Indonesian is my favorite cuisine.
It's just not the same without shrimp paste and ketchup manis, though.

i've tried many ethnic cuisines from indonesia, from saksang (pork cooked in with spices and blood), to rendang (dry meat curry), to many kinds of soto and soups, to many kinds of fried duck, manadonese poridge, and all... although they have not yet covered all the thousand kinds of indonesian taste, i can say that i have tried many, which some of them are not very popular.
i'm indonesia, so most of these food i got here. but i tried nasi goreng and babi ketjap in germany. i skipped the indonesian food in holland since i have passions for herrings and dutch food.

We don't have an Indonesian restaurant in our city.
We have one Thai and one Vietnamese and many Chinese.
I wish I could taste the Indonesian style of cooking.
Can I ask a favor do you have a recipe I could try and then I'd have the best of both worlds?
Thanks ...I'll be waiting....
