The cure or vaccine has been 5-10 years away for 15 years. It will happen only when makes money for the pharmaceutical industry. When's the last time ANYTHING has been cured?

Why do you really think there is such strong opposition to stem cell research? I bet it'll have strong opposition even when an embryo is no longer required to obtain stem cells.

Back to AIDS... there is a sort of cure: life long treatment w/AIDS cocktails.

Hopefully. There have been alot of break thrus the past few years. We just all need to support the AIDS research groups, so they can continue to find treatments and possibly a cure. I know that UAB is working on research for a vaccine.

I recently read that a vaccine is about 10 years away. That's not a cure, but that's good prevention.

Quarantining AIDS-infected people would be a good start, and I'm not saying that to be malicious. It;s a contagious terminal disease, and it would have been much more contained or possibly even eradicated by now if those infected with it would've been quaratined and kept away from the uninfected.

There has been too much carelessness and irresponsibility in regards to the disease.

as was already stated there is no money to be made in a cure, treating people is where the money is.

if there are no powerful lobbyists pushing for it on Capital Hill it isn't going to happen.

have you seen pictures of most of our leaders in D.C? most of them male or female couldn't get laid in a whore house here in Vegas with a pocket full of money..it's not a big concern for a lot of people in power.

there probably already is, however drug and pharmacutical companies can make more money by selling their innefective "cures", than by allowing the real cures out into the public.
