I am absolutely terrified and I feel so alone. I just found out last week that I tested positive for hsv1 and 2. If your wife had a break out during birth, then more than likely he will have it. If she had a C-section then he should be OK. The only real way to pass it is to have contact with an open sore.

its possible he has it from the delivery process - its simple to do a western blot (blood test) to see - your doctor will know what that is.
