I swear by hot tea, and it's working wonders for me right now.
Supposedly whiskey with a little bit of honey and lemon is supposed to be a home remedy proven to work on sore throats. About a million people have told me to try it since I've been sick, but I don't drink so I haven't and can't tell you for sure.

I swear by Echninacea tea. You can get it at the local grocery store or capsules at the health food store. It is a natural antibiotic and antiviral. It works wonders for me. I drink a cup of it every hour for a full day and almost always feel better the next day. You might try Throat Coat which is another tea that Traditional Medicinals makes too. It kind of numbs your throat although I don't care for the taste. Feel better soon!

cough drops with menthol or throat lozengers. Throat lozengers are better because they help numb your throat but if you can't find them cough drops are second best, just make sure there is menthol in them, it helps your throat feel a little numb too. I would also reccomend a spray. You can find all of these in the cough and cold aisle in the drug store or supermarket. The warm water with salt also helps too.

Gargle with warm, very salty water to clean all of that gunk out of there. Brush your teeth a lot to keep your mouth clean, and eat a lot of popsicles. :)
