the cow can have open infected wounds, cancer and what ever other nasty thing cows get.if its breating by the time it gets to the slaughter house (it doesn't even have to be able to walk) then they can use it.
they don't care if it makes you sick all they care about is if it makes them money.

Yes, antibiotics are in meat. Factory farmed animals are fed huge amounts of antibiotics to keep them alive in conditions which would otherwise kill them. There's really no process that removes the antibiotics from the meat, so we actually do consume them when we eat meat. The same goes with hormones. And I'm not sure how or if we break it down. I wouldn't think it would act like a human antibiotic because it's not as potent, I would think. I mean, an animal has consumes it and used it. Then we eat the animal and consume the drugs. But over time I would think it might have some kind of effect.

Well, I know that about 2 decades ago, they let the cows eat the remains of the slaughtered cows. And some of the slaughtered cows had mad cow disease. And it wasn't monitored. This kind of thing still happens. You made a very intelligent move, and you will live a very long and healthy life if you keep being intelligent and make smart food choices.

When cattle go to a processing plant, after they are slaughtered, quite a few inspectors check the carcass to see if anything is wrong with it. If they find something wrong, then the meat is labeled inedible, and it is disposed of. If the meat isn't real bad, it can be made into pet food, but if the animal had something like tuberculosis, then it is destroyed.

Yes, I have heard that.
Read The Jungle by Upton Sinclair. I'm sure practices have changed some since then, but it will give you an idea of what happens in the meatpacking industry. Ewww. You really don't want to know whats in the bologna.

I don't know, but I saw that on the video on www.meat.org
They only mention it briefly in the cow section, so you have to watch closely.
