I have always been told it the hoofs they use to make gelatin. True or not, I don't know. I do know horse meat is ate in different countries just like we use cattle here for meat. It sounds funky, but when you really think about it, horse meat has to be every bit as clean as cattle meat, they eat the same things. Grass and oats and corn. Its just that we have different ideas on what to eat due to the fact its what we eat from childhood on up. In some countries they eat snakes, yuck, rather eat horse meat.

Horse meat. I have seen horse meat carpaccio on a menu and a friend worked at a restaurant where they sold a chocolate tart that used horse blood as the setting agent (as opposed to eggs) sounds gross but apparently it was very nice.

Horse Meat comes from horses. If you've ever eaten at McDonald's you've had horse meat.

Nothing for human consumption. Organs are sold to people who make shampoos/body ointments, soap producors, the hides are tanned usually for furniture applications and the meat of the animal is sold to K9/Feline food processors.
