It looks like I'm over the cold, but not the cough. I pretty much feel fine, but I can't shake the cough. I have a persistant cough, the non-productive type (non-plegm type). I have to admit it's a nuisance since I do technical support over the phone.

I just started my job, so I'm one month shy of insurance.

Any suggestions to get rid of this cough?

hmm you really didnt give us much to go on? Is it a dry hacking cough, chesty cough or is it that drippy feeling in the back of the throat cough? If you need relief for a dry hacking cough (no mucus) use a cough suppressant. For the chesty cough use an expectorant. For the drippy cough you may need a nasal spray ... but really you've had your cough for a week and a half now so the best thing to do would be to go see your doctor.

Well, if it's not productive then you would need to get rid of the phlegm somehow and that's only going to come with a doctor's visit or some anti-biotics.

While the cough may be annoying, its the least of your worries.

annoying as it is...sometimes you jsut get a cold where the cough lingers for what seems like forever...I usually use hot water or tea with lemon and honey. Also - you might want to look into cough medicine that won't make u drowsy...best of luck.

Ricola cough drops are about the only thing that works for me. You can take cough supressants like Robitussin. They make one in gel cap form that doesn't taste like death.

My suggestion is a good old fashioned trip to Sam's Club.
