i am having a general aneasthetic and have come down with a cold just wondering if they will still operate?

Highly unlikely. Call and tell them right now- they'll probably need to reschedule.

Highly unlikely and not advisable. You are already compromising your respiratory system with the anesthesia, a cold on top of that could lead to complications such as pneumonia or even respiratory distress. Unless it is life threatening to postpone, I wouldn't have surgery. You need to be honest with the doc.

Yes unless you have a raised temp and / or chest infection. A simple cold is ok. Very few children would ever have ops if we waited for their appointments for surgery to co-inside with dry noses!

that depends on a few conditions. is this surgery necessary immediately? if not,, i would wait. the lungs are stressed after general anesthesia somewhat , so you want to go into this with a good immune system.

If you still have a cold, they shouldn't operate until you get better.
