If you used a condom, you should be fine - if you are at all worried you could go to your local clinic for a test - but I am sure you will be fine. Do go if you get any odd signs - like burning on passing urine, for example. Well done for being sensible - there are alot of nasties out there

If you used a condom then you can rule out certain STD's but no you are not being silly because take Human Papilloma virus (genital warts) its believed that over 50% of sexually active people aged between 20-35 have this virus and it is not protected against by using a condom...its also hard to detect if someone has it because unless they have warts at the time...you have no idea who is a carrier. This is something you may want to look into to rule out but fortunately most STD's are not caught if wearing a condom!

If you have been using condoms, then you should be ok from cathing am STD through penetration, as condoms are 98% effective.
What you do need to be aware of, are otherways of transmitting diseases. Herpes, for instance can be transmitted to the genitals, via a coldsore on the mouth, so if she suffers from oral herpes (coldsores) then make sure you dont indulge in oral sex. Some very rare cases of herpes can be shed even without a coldsore present (this is called asymptomatic shedding) but like i said, is very rare.
Remember thought that for a lot of std's, there are no symptoms, so if you are truly worried, then you should both get tests done. They arent as bad as everybody makes out.
Just be careful. Considering that i ended up with an incurable STD after only sleeping with one person, and we were both virgins, it just goes to show that you really really need to be safe everytime.

Its not stupid to worry and i think your being sensible to wonder about a subject like that.Nothing is one hundred percent in this world and neither are condoms. Also your ex may have told you she hasnt slept with anybody without using protection but she may not have. Its quite common for people to get themselfs checked out and it is painless,so id suggest you do just that for peace of mind.
Everybody has a past and some people have slept with more than others it dosent make her a bad person at all.If you get some swabs done, and dont want to go to your regular gp there is always a unit within a local hospital near you and everything is confidential.Dont worry im sure your fine but rather than have sle
epless nights over it all ,just get checked out!
Good Luck, and dont torment yourself over it!

You should be alright, that's what condoms are for. But if you worry about it, get checked, it's quite simple. I'm not exactly proud of it but I used to sleep around a lot when I was younger. Always carried condoms with me and always made the bloke to use one and I never caught anything. I got tested regularily just to be on the safe side and we both got tested with my bf of seven years before we gave up using condoms.

It is NOT stupid to worry. There are Sexually transmitted diseases that can be transmitted even with the use of a condom such as herpes and HPV leading to genital warts. Although, not an STD, you can also contract a very contagious disease called mulloscum contagiosum. You were very wise to protect yourself, but the best protection is the really screen your partners and sometimes turn people down.

First of all you said that shes "been round alot"... and people have told you shes ALWAYS careful,so tell me, were all these people there at the time of her having sex and using protection??And even if you use some thing you can stil catch STD's like Warts, Crabs..ect. and if you had foreplay first like oral sex or anything that didnt include Viginal penatration then you can still catch STD's.(Thats if either of you had any) You should go to he clinic and get tested and if you had Oral sex get mouth swabs too, as you can carry Chlymidia, gonnerea ..etc in your mouth...GOOD LUCK!!

yea you are being silly to worry. condoms are 97% likely to work if you put them on right. whats this means is that 3% of the time they split, and if they split you are at risk of getting an STD. if your condom didnt split, theres no chance you would have shared fluids, so theres no reason to worry.
so be happy :D

No, it's definitely not stupid to worry. Go get a STD test. you can still get STDs even if you use condoms. if you're worried, just go get one, and maybe you should advise her to get tested, too. the tests are done in confidentiality so you don't need to worry about anyone finding out.
