The sore provides a door way out of the other person's body. Transmittion of anything disease is still rediculously unlikely. AIDS or HIV can be transfered via the serum that comes out of the sore. This needs to be absorbed into your body by a sore of your own or cracked lips but there has never been a documented case of that happening though it is physically possible.

As for STDs, thats a rough area to talk about. It doesn't actually touch your genitals so not to worry about anyting showing up down there. The sores could be herpes (HSV1) and that is very contagious but it will stay in the oral area when you have an outbreak. Other then that, most other STDs are of bacterial origin (gonarrhea bacteria, clamidia bacteria, etc). This takes direct genital on bacteria transmition. Your in the clear in that department.

HIV no, some other STD's yes but very very unlikely.

HIV can not be passed through saliva. The only fluids HIV can be transmitted are blood, semen (including pre-seminal fluid) vaginal fluid, or breast milk.

Some STD's can be passed by kissing, but only if the infection of the infected person that you are kissing is around the mouth. Some types genital warts and cold sores (which are a type of herpes) can be passed by kissing. For the most part kissing is pretty much safe seeing as you would likely notice if someone had genital warts on their face.

Cold sores are generally regarded as the only STD transfered by kissing. But cold sores are not likely to do anything more than cause discomfort.

Because others seem to have covered it (and no, yo ucan't get HIV if you kiss someone who has a store in their mouth even if it isn't bleeding), but:

Beef - How can someone have GENITAL herpes on their FACE? How many people do you know who's genitals are on their face? ;)

Mandy - The reason you got 3 "Bad Answers" is because the HIV virus is inhibited by the enzymes in the saliva, but it still exists. It's just not sturdy enough to make the trip into a human's blood stream and to a T-cell to infect it before it dies.

If there is not any certainly touch with the genitals, and that they are coated by outfits then you truly won't be in a position to settlement HIV. notwithstanding, if the guy has HIV and you recognize this then that's in all probability terrific to not take any possibilities with or without outfits.

Absolutely not HIV. I m doing a project on HIV/AIDS and the saliva has certain enzymes that destroy the virus, thus it doen't even exist in saliva. HIV is one virus that is easily inhibited outside blood. Blood to blood contact is the only mode of transmission, so no sores, no HIV.

Most probably other STDs also don't spread through social contact.

I guess in theory it's possible, but the odds of it are very, very low, I have never heard of a case of HIV transmission via that route, though it may have happened and gone unreported.
