My usual resting heart rate is 56; now it is 93 b.p.m and can't get it down. My Blood Pressure is low 99/64 to 101/69. I do get a lot of tightness in the chest and my left arm is numb at times. I'm very active, I'm training for a half-ironman. Is this something I should worry about or just carry on?

You need to go be checked out before you do any more training. When I am triaging patients with your symptoms I send them to ER for evaluation. I am concerned that you have some ischemia going on which if left untreated can progress to a full blown heart attack. While I hope that this is maybe just a muscle issue, my experience tells me to encourage you to go see someone...today!
Please let us know. Take care and good luck!

If your resting heart rate has not gone down after 20 minutes of rest, you have tightness in your chest and your left arm feels painful, call your doctor now.

You may be experiencing early signs of a heart attack. Don't wait. At least call and talk to a professional.

The average person's heart beats about 60 to 80 times a minute when we're at rest with well-trained athletes at 40 to 60 beats per minute.

Resting heart rate usually rises with age, and it's generally lower in physically fit people. Resting heart rate is used to determine one's training target heart rate. Athletes sometimes measure their resting heart rate as one way to find out if they're overtrained. The heart rate adapts to changes in the body's need for oxygen, such as during exercise or sleep

Resting heart rates that are consistently high (tachycardia) may indicate a problem

Realize this MARATHON TYPE TRAINING IS NOT HEALTHY

ONN /OFF IS

THINK NBA PLAYERS SPRINTING ON /OFF

THIS is what STRENGTHENS the heart. SPRINTS HELP WITH HEART RATE VARIABLILITY- A SIGNAL OF GOOD HEALTH IS HAVING ALOT OF HEART RATE VARIABLITY

Steady state excercise JUST DOWNSIZES YOUR HREAT AND TAKES AWAY IT'S RESERVE CAPACITY. It also trians the NATURAL CHAOS OUT OF THE HEART BEAT.

YOU ARE JUST GOING TO AGE YOURSELF DOING MARATHON TYPE EVENTS

DO SPRINTS 100 METERS AND /OR 2 MINUTES ON OF RUNNING 2 MINUTES OFF OF WALKING

ALL OTHER ANIMALS IN NATURE DO ON /OFF MOVEMENTS

STEADY STATE IS UNnatural and DOES NOT CREAT ELASTICITY IN THE BLODD VESSELS- SOMETHING YOU WANT

STEDAY STATE PRODUCES NO GROWTH HORMONE

STEADY STATE LOWERS TETSOTERONE

MAKES YOU SLOWER
WEAKER ECT...

Continual movement at the same pace with no breaks is ONE OF THE WORST THINGS YOU CAN DO for your health

and doing this every day is EVEN WORSE

SPRINTS 3 TIMES A WEEK
