Basically you are totally fine! Both your readings for your glucose test and blood pressure are within normal ranges. I can also guess why you didn't ask your doctor. Sometimes patients are a bit intimidated by the person wearing the scary white coat or maybe you were afraid that if your doctor did explain it to you...he/she would use alot of medical terms that you wouldn't understand...in turn getting you even more confused. I used to be the same and so are alot of others!

Anyway back to the question...

...your doctor would have measured the amount of glucose (sugar) in your blood to see if it was high, low or normal.

Generally, a glucose reading less than 7.0 mmol/L (millimoles per litre) but above 2.5 mmol/L is considered NORMAL and perfectly healthy. So anything above 7.0 mmol/L is considered too high and anything below 2.5 mmol/L is considered too low...your readings are great.

HbA1C is a term used to described glucose (sugar) that sticks to the haemoglobin (a chemical that makes up red blood cells). So
5.4 per cent HbA1C is also normal. What this means is that your doctor measured your HbA1C in your blood. This test can tell him how high your blood glucose level has been over a period of about 8-12 weeks. So your readings here were also normal.

And guess what...your blood pressure readings are also normal. Its a bit more complicated to explain but basically there are 2 readings taken. One called a systolic reading and the other a diastolic reading. Your systolic reading is 103 and your diastolic reading is 65. Normal systolic readings are anything below 120 and anything below 80 for a diastolic reading. So your readings here are also great!

I really hope this explains your results so you understand what they mean.

Take care!

Oh and the answer above by SAMI is totally wrong...you are normal and classed as fit and healthy!!!
